Ramkhamhaeng University
Ramkhamhaeng University is Thailand's largest public university. It was named in honour of King Ramkhamhaeng, one of the 5 children of Por Khun Sri-Intharathitaya and Nang Sueng, who was believed to have created the Thai alphabet and for establishing of Theravada Buddhism as the state religion of the Sukhothai Kingdom. The university provides an effective and economical way to meet public demand for higher education.
Once completed, Ramkhamhaeng University MRT station on MRT Orange Line will serve the university.
Famous university chant "พ่อกูชื่อศรีแม่กูนางเสืองลูกหลานเต๊มเมือง รามคำแหง" meaning, "My father is Sri, my mother is Sueng, with their abundance of descendants, Ramkhamhaeng".
Overview
Ramkhamhaeng University has two major campuses, both in Bangkok. Freshman classes are held at Bang Na campus in Prawet district. Most others classes are conducted at the main campus at Hua Mak, Bang Kapi District. Approximately 435,000 students attend the university, 400,000 undergraduates and 35,000 graduate students. Tuition fees are in the range of 7,155–8,880 baht per academic year. The university's budgetallocation from the central government for FY2019 is 1,179 million baht, down from FY2018.
International program
- is an international program providing a diverse range of academic disciplines. It offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in both English and Chinese for Thai and international students, in collaboration with overseas universities.
