- * The first episode of Uncle Croc's Block is broadcast, a live-action children's TV show with animated intermezzo's: M*U*S*H, Fraidy Cat and Wacky and Packy.
- * The first episode of The Tom & Jerry Show airs, which is Tom and Jerry's first television show. This show gained negative attention by fans of the theatrical shorts from the golden era due to the result that the duo are shown as friends as slapstick violence were grounded by the Seal of Good Practices at the time.
