Peter Demos


Peter T. Demos was a professor in the MIT [Department of Physics|Department of Physics] and the Massachusetts [Institute of Technology School of Science#Laboratory for Nuclear Science|Laboratory for Nuclear Science] at Massachusetts [Institute of Technology|MIT]. A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Demos attended Peterborough [Collegiate and Vocational School] and Queen's [University at Kingston|Queen's University], and received a Ph.D. in Physics from MIT in 1951. He was a founder and former director of the Massachusetts Institute of [Technology School of Science#Bates Linear Accelerator|Bates Linear Accelerator] at MIT and served as advisor on nuclear science to John F. Kennedy.
