Minister of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs

The minister of Chittagong Hill Tracts affairs of Bangladesh is the minister in charge of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs within the government of Bangladesh. He is also the minister of all departments and agencies under the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs.

History

In 2004, Prime Minister Khaleda Zia restricted the amount of discretionary cash allocation Deputy Moni Swapan Dewan could spend. The government also allocated rice, 28 thousand tons for Bengalis, 10 thousand tons for Bangladesh Army, and 2.1 thousand tons for former rebels in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
