History

Kōka Station opened on March 1, 1904 as Ōhara Station on the Kansai Railway, which was nationalized in 1907 to become part of the Japanese Government Railway, and subsequently the Japan National Railway . On May 1, 1918, the station name was changed to Ōharaichi Station. The station became Kōka Station on April 10, 1956. The station became part of the West Japan Railway Company on April 1, 1987 due to the privatization and dissolution of the JNR.
