Japan Institute of Design Promotion
The Japan Institute of Design Promotion is a Japanese design institution. Originally called the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization, it was founded in 1969 with the goal of promoting industrial design. It issues annual Good Design Awards.

History
- 1969 – Established as the "Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization".
- 1971 – Joined the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design.
- 1974 – Commissioned by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry to operate the "Good Design Product Selection System".
- 1998 – The "Good Design Product Selection System" was privatized and continued as the "Good Design Award".
- 2011 – Transitioned to the "Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Japan Design Promotion Organization" in accordance with the Public Interest Corporation System Reform. Kazumasa Nagai became chairman.
- 2013 – Motomi Kawakami became chairman.
