James Allan Anderson (chess player)
James Allan Anderson was an American chess player.
Biography
James Allan Anderson was a three-time St. Louis Chess Champion who defeated Alexander Alekhine in a simultaneous exhibition in 1929. He finished second in the 1929 Western Chess Association Championship.James Allan Anderson played for United States in the Chess Olympiad:
- In 1930, at reserve board in the 3rd Chess Olympiad in Hamburg.
Anderson died in Antioch, California, and is buried at Oak View Memorial Park in that city.
