Cold Storage (film)


Cold Storage is a 2026 comedy horror film directed by Jonny Campbell from a screenplay by David Koepp based on the 2019 titular novel by Koepp. The film stars Georgina Campbell, Joe Keery, Sosie Bacon, Vanessa Redgrave, Lesley Manville, and Liam Neeson. It follows the attempts at containing a parasitic fungus that leaks out of an abandoned military base.
Cold Storage was first released in Mexico and Brazil on January 29, 2026, and in the United States by Samuel Goldwyn Films on February 13. StudioCanal is releasing Cold Storage in Poland on February 6, in France on February 18, in Germany on February 19, in the United Kingdom on February 20, and in New Zealand on March 12.

Premise

"The film follows Travis and Naomi, two employees at a self-storage facility built atop a former military base, whose night shift transforms into a nightmare when a government-sealed parasitic fungus escapes from the underground levels. As temperatures rise, the microorganism unleashes its brain-controlling, body-bursting mayhem on anything in its path. The duo must join forces with a weathered bioterror operative to contain the threat before it triggers humanity’s extinction."

Production

In May 2022, it was announced that Liam Neeson and Joe Keery will star in the film and that StudioCanal would fully finance the film. In October 2022, it was announced that Georgina Campbell joined the cast. In March 2023, it was announced that Sosie Bacon was added to the cast and that filming began in Italy and Morocco.

Release

In April 2025, Samuel Goldwyn Films acquired North American rights to the film. Cold Storage was first released in Mexico and Brazil on January 29, 2026, and then in the United States on February 13, 2026.
