At War with the Mystics
At War with the Mystics is the eleventh studio album by American rock band the Flaming Lips, released on April 3, 2006, by Warner Bros. Records. The album is more guitar-driven and features more politically themed lyrics than the band's previous two albums The Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. It is the groups' first album featuring contributions from drummer Kliph Scurlock despite not being credited alongside the rest of the band until the following album, Embryonic.
At War with the Mystics won a 2006 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and was also nominated for Best Alternative Album. By 2009, the album had sold over 220,000 copies in United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
