Alwi Farhan


Alwi Farhan Alhasny is an Indonesian badminton player. He was the gold medalist in the men's singles at the 2025 SEA Games. He also part of the Indonesia men's team squad that won the gold medals at the 2023 and 2025 SEA Games. In the juniors, Farhan won the boys' singles title at the 2023 World Junior Championships.

Career

2022

In June, Farhan finished as a finalist in the Lithuanian International. He was a member of the Indonesia squad that won bronze medal in the BWF World Junior Championships. In the individual event, he lost in the second round to Thai player Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul.

2023–2024

In April, Farhan reached the final of the Osaka International, but was defeated by host player Yushi Tanaka. In May, he competed at the 2023 SEA Games, and won the gold medal in the men's team event. In July, he competed at the Asia Junior Championships mixed team event, and earned the silver medal after Indonesian team lost in the final against Japan. In the individual event, he earned the bronze medal after losing the semi-finals match to 3rd seed Chinese player Hu Zhe'an.
In September, Farhan claimed his first title by winning the Indonesia International tournament in Medan. In the next tour, he lost at the first round of Indonesia Masters Super 100 I from Aidil Sholeh.
In 2024, Farhan reached the semi-finals in the Macau Open. He then won the Indonesia Masters Super 100.

2025

In 2025, Farhan was selected to join the Indonesia squad at the Sudirman Cup, where the team finished in the semi-finals and won the bronze medal. He helped Indonesian's team standing on top at the group stage by defeating world rank number 3 Anders Antonsen. He won his first BWF Super 300 tournament in the Macau Open. In December, he made his second appearance at the SEA Games, and won the gold medal in the team event. in individual men's singles event, Alwi manage to outlast his compatriot Zaki Ubaidillah in three sets to grab the gold.

2026

Farhan won his first Super 500 in his career against Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul of Thailand at his own home tournament, the Indonesia Masters.
