Acanthogyrus
Acanthogyrus is a genus of parasitic worms belonging to the family Quadrigyridae. The species of this genus are found in Africa.

Golvan in 1959 divided the genus Acanthogyrus into two subgenera: Acanthogyrus and Acanthosentis based on the number of proboscis hooks; there are 18 in Acanthosentis and 24 in Acanthogyrus.Description
