Chernov's skink
Chernov's skink is a species of skink, a lizard in the family Scincidae. The species is endemic to northern Eurasia.
Geographic range
A. chernovi is native to Armenia, eastern Turkey, northern Syria, and the valleys of the Arax River and the Hrazdan River in the Caucasus. Records from Syria may represent another species, A. rueppellii.Conservation status
A. chernovi was included in Red Data Book of the USSR in 1984, and in that of Armenia three years later.Etymology
The specific name, chernovi, is in honour of Russian herpetologist Sergius Alexandrovich Chernov.Subspecies
