Wombat Island
Wombat Island is a small island just off the east end of McKinnon Island, off the coast of Enderby Land. Plotted from air photos taken from ANARE aircraft in 1956. Named by Antarctic [Names Committee of Australia] after the wombat, a native animal of Australia. Since 2016 home to a small German team researching wombat wildlife.
