Wilton, California
Wilton is a census-designated place in Sacramento County, California, United States. It is part of the Sacramento-Arden-Arcade-Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 5,958 at the 2020 census, up from 5,363 at the 2010 census.
Geography and environment
Wilton is located at . According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of, all of it land.Historically the Wilton vicinity has been a locale of considerable haying and pasture usage; the depth to groundwater is typically about 150 to 175 feet.
Wilton lies partially in the floodplain of the Cosumnes River. Because some areas of Wilton are in a flood zone, water can be in the streets during the rainy season. In 1997, an El Nino/La Nina year, levees broke and some homes were flooded to the rooftops. On New Years Eve of 2022, parts of Wilton were evacuated due to a flood warning after levee breaches on the Cosumnes River.

The 2020 United States census reported that Wilton had a population of 5,958. The population density was. The racial makeup was 68.9% White, 2.0% African American, 1.6% Native American, 5.2% Asian, 0.5% Pacific Islander, 6.9% from other races, and 14.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 19.7% of the population.The census reported that 99.4% of the population lived in households, 0.6% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and no one was institutionalized.
There were 2,039 households, out of which 30.8% included children under the age of 18, 66.6% were married-couple households, 4.0% were cohabiting couple households, 15.6% had a female householder with no partner present, and 13.8% had a male householder with no partner present. 16.2% of households were one person, and 8.1% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.91. There were 1,619 families.
The age distribution was 21.2% under the age of 18, 7.9% aged 18 to 24, 18.8% aged 25 to 44, 29.7% aged 45 to 64, and 22.4% who were 65years of age or older. The median age was 46.7years. For every 100 females, there were 100.8 males.

The racial makeup of Wilton was 2,234 White, 169 African American, 45 Native American, 289 Asian, 13 Pacific Islander, 343 from other races, and 270 from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 683 persons.The Census reported that 3,341 people lived in households, 16 lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and 6 were institutionalized.
There were 1,865 households, out of which 613 had children under the age of 18 living in them, 1,281 were opposite-sex married couples living together, 130 had a female householder with no husband present, 84 had a male householder with no wife present. There were 66 unmarried opposite-sex partnerships, and 17 same-sex married couples or partnerships. 284 households were made up of individuals, and 124 had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.86. There were 1,495 families ; the average family size was 3.18.
