It was written by Blige, Bryan-Michael Cox Kendrick "WyldCard" Dean and Johnta Austin for her ninth studio album, Stronger with Each Tear, while production was helmed by Cox and Dean, with additional production from Ron Fair. It was released as the third American and last single from the album.

The video which although was originally scheduled to premiere on May 10, 2010 through Vevo actually appeared on Rap-Up on May 6, 2010.
