We'll Find Happiness


We'll Find Happiness is a Canadian drama film, directed by Léa Pool and slated for release in 2025. The film stars Mehdi Meskar as Saad, a gay man from Morocco who has come to Canada as a refugee; when his Iranian boyfriend faces deportation back to Iran where he will almost certainly be killed, Saad takes it upon himself to seduce a bureaucrat for the immigration department in the hopes of securing his partner's safety.
The cast also includes Paul Ahmarani, Sebastien Beaulac, Shiva Gholamianzadeh, Yves Soutière, Sascha Ley, Geneviève Rochette, Joey Perron, Joël Delsaut, Maxime Afshar, Giuseppe Calvinisti and Jérôme Varanfrain in supporting roles.
Written by Michel Marc Bouchard as his first original screenplay that was not adapted from one of his theatrical plays, the film entered production in 2024 under the working title L'Habit du héros.
The film is slated to premiere in September 2025 at the 2025 Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival, and will screen as the opening film of the 2025 Cinemania film festival on November 4, 2025, prior to going into commercial release on November 7.
