The 2020 United States census counted 8,925 people, 3,751 households, and 2,641 families in Wakefield-Peacedale. The population density was. There were 4,027 housing units at an average density of. The racial makeup was 84.18% white or European American, 2.1% black or African-American, 3.11% Native American or Alaska Native, 2.04% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander or Native Hawaiian, 1.48% from other races, and 7.06% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 3.98% of the population.Of the 3,751 households, 23.1% had children under the age of 18; 43.5% were married couples living together; 32.0% had a female householder with no spouse or partner present. 32.6% of households consisted of individuals and 17.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.4 and the average family size was 2.9. The percent of those with a bachelor's degree or higher was estimated to be 38.6% of the population.
