Vine Hill is a census-designated place in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 4,323 at the 2020 census. It is located east of downtown Martinez.

Demographics

Vine Hill first appeared as a census-designated place in the 1980 United States census under the name Vine-Hill-Pacheco; the name was changed to Vine Hill for the 1990 U.S. census.

2020 census

The 2020 United States census reported that Vine Hill had a population of 4,323. The population density was. The racial makeup of Vine Hill was 51.6% White, 3.3% African American, 1.7% Native American, 11.1% Asian, 0.6% Pacific Islander, 15.7% from other races, and 15.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 30.9% of the population.
The census reported that 99.5% of the population lived in households and 0.5% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters.
There were 1,469 households, out of which 39.1% included children under the age of 18, 52.4% were married-couple households, 8.4% were cohabiting couple households, 24.0% had a female householder with no partner present, and 15.2% had a male householder with no partner present. 17.7% of households were one person, and 6.6% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.93. There were 1,085 families.
The age distribution was 23.8% under the age of 18, 7.6% aged 18 to 24, 31.3% aged 25 to 44, 24.9% aged 45 to 64, and 12.4% who were 65years of age or older. The median age was 37.7years. For every 100 females, there were 99.7 males.
