Vanessa Getty

Vanessa Getty is an American socialite and philanthropist.

Life and career

Getty was born in San Francisco to actor Claude Jarman Jr. and ballerina Maryann Eve Opperman. She has a sister, Natalie, and five paternal half-siblings.
She is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles.
In 1999, she married Billy Getty, the son of Gordon Getty and Ann Getty, in the Napa Valley. They have three children and are based in San Francisco.
In 2015, she was named as an honorary co-chair of the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco.
As a philanthropist, Getty contributed in the development of the Peninsula Humane Society. She is also the founder of San Francisco Bay Humane Friends.
She supported and donated to the campaign of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, who is also the godmother to one of her children.
