Valencene synthase
Valencene synthase is an enzyme with systematic name -farnesyl-diphosphate diphosphate-lyase . It is a terpene cyclase enzyme responsible for the biosynthesis of valencene, a sesquiterpene, using farnesyl pyrophosphate as its substrate. The first such enzyme was isolated using orange cDNA.
