Unit 4400
Unit 4400 is a clandestine logistics and finance division within Hezbollah, the Lebanese Shiite militant group designated as a terrorist organization by multiple countries, including the United States and Israel. This unit is primarily responsible for smuggling weapons and transferring funds from Iran to Hezbollah in Lebanon, often coordinating closely with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps–Quds Force.

Unit 4400 plays a critical role in Hezbollah’s military infrastructure by facilitating the movement of arms, equipment, and financial resources. The unit operates through various channels, including land routes via Syria and air routes through Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport. It collaborates with IRGC-QF units such as Unit 190 and Unit 700 to ensure the continuous supply of military assets to Hezbollah.Leadership
- Muhammad Jafar Qasir. Muhammad Jafar Qasir AKA Shiek Salah is a senior Hezbollah official who led Unit 4400 for approximately 15 years. He was instrumental in managing Hezbollah’s financial and logistical networks in coordination with the IRGC-QF. Qasir was designated as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by the U.S. Treasury Department in 2018 and was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on October 1, 2024.
- Hussein Ali Nasr. Hussien Ali Nasr served as the deputy head of Unit 4400. He was responsible for smuggling weapons and funds into Lebanon, often utilizing Beirut’s international airport and collaborating with Iranian operatives. Nasr was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon on April 20, 2025.
