The detection and discrimination of spatial offsets is a scholarly work, published in 1995 in ''Vision Research''. The main subjects of the publication include absolute threshold, cognitive psychology, Hyperacuity, Vernier scale, visual perception, offset, color psychology, Vernier acuity, hemispatial neglect, psychology, computer science, optics, stimulus, and psychophysics. The authors compared vernier thresholds for these two tasks and found a consistent difference by a factor of around 2 in favour of discrimination.
