The Natch'l Blues

The Natch'l Blues is the second studio album by American blues artist Taj Mahal, released in 1968.

Background

In addition to Jesse Ed Davis, Gary Gilmore, and Charles Blackwell, who had also played on Mahal's previous album Taj Mahal, guest musicians such as Al Kooper and Earl Palmer were recruited. A line from the lyrics of "She Caught the Katy and Left Me a Mule to Ride" is quoted from a song by Yank Rachel, who was also credited as a co-writer.
