The original description contains records from the Japan Sea coast of Middle Japan: Sado Island, Toyama Bay and Oki Island, Shimane Prefecture. Also reported from South Korea and Hong Kong.EcologyTenellia diversicolor feeds on a hydroid, a species of Aglaophenia, family Aglaopheniidae.
