Takato Ishida


Takato Ishida is a Japanese politician who is the governor of Fukui Prefecture. He is the youngest governor in Japan.

Election

Ishida, who previously was an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, defeated independent candidate Kenichi Yamada and Japanese Communist Yukie Kanemoto during the Japanese local elections">Japanese language">Japanese local elections for the governorship of Fukui Prefecture. Ishida gained a majority of 134,620 votes over Yamada's 130,290 Kanemoto's 15,735. He ran as an independent politician supported by Sanseitō.
