Spring of Life (2000 film)


Spring of Life is a 2000 Czech film directed by Milan Cieslar.

Plot

The film depicts a little-known operation of the Nazi SS, started just before the outbreak of World War II.
Grétka has been selected by the Nazis for the Lebensborn. She falls in love with a Jew, Leo, who has been hiding there. A short summary of the lebensborn program follows as such: Germany encouraged young women who were racially pure and "Aryan" to have a baby with a racially fit and aryan man. It was a breeding program, 60% of the women who entered this program were unmarried.In addition Germany kidnapped children from other countries who fit their Aryan standards, to become foster children for pure German couples.
