South Gate Ridge is a census-designated place in Sarasota County, Florida, United States. The population was 6,024 at the 2020 census, up from 5,688 at the 2010 census. It is part of the North Port -Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

As of the 2020 United States census, South Gate Ridge had a population of 6,024 with 2,438 households.
The population was split by age, with 3.3% under 5 years old, 19.3% under 18, and 21.3% were 65 years and older. 49.3% were female persons. There were 327 veterans living in the CDP and 17.3% of the population were foreign born persons.
