Selenops ansieae is found in Limpopoprovince in South Africa. The species has been recorded from Waterberg, Vygeboompoort and Lephalale/Ellisras at altitudes ranging from 840 to 1,467 m above sea level.
The species was described by Corronca in 2002 from the Waterberg, Vygeboompoort. It is known only from the female. The carapace is orange-brown, chelicerae are orange, and legs are orange-brown with dark incomplete rings on femora I-IV and tibiae I-IV. The venter is yellowish. Total length is 8.78mm.
