Probabilistic forecasting of replication studies

Probabilistic forecasting of replication studies is a scholarly work by Samuel Pawel, published in 2020 in ''PLOS One''. The main subjects of the publication include systematic review, probabilistic logic, computer science, clinical trial, scientific workflow system, econometrics, statistical model, statistic replication, inflation, and statistics. The results suggest that many of the estimates from the original studies were inflated, possibly caused by publication bias or questionable research practices, and also that some degree of heterogeneity between original and replication effects should be expected.
