The notochaetae are thinner than the neurochaetae, with bidentate neurochaetae absent.Biology and ecologyPolyeunoa maculata is commensal with another species of marine annelid, Mesochaetopterus japonicus; it was first found inside the tube constructed by M. japonicus.
