Phyag bris gces btus


Phyag bris gces btus is a Tibetan book series that brings together a range of earlier works of Tibetan Buddhism. The volumes are publications edited by the Paltsek Research Institute.

Overview

The series was published between 2007 and 2009 by the Beijing-based Tibetan-language publishing house China Tibetology Publishing House. It comprises 59 volumes, organized into several major sections: Volumes 1–10: rNgog chos skor phyogs bsgrigs, a collection of tantric commentaries by various masters of the Ngog Kagyu tradition; Volumes 11–17: Dus 'khor 'grel mchan phyogs bsgrigs, a compilation of annotated commentaries on the Kalacakra Tantra; Volumes 18–45: Bu ston Rin chen grub kyi gsung 'bum, the collected works of Buton Rinchen Drub, including two volumes containing texts by his student Dratsepa Rinchen Namgyel.; Volumes 46–55: rJe btsun Tā ra nā tha’i gsung ’bum bris ma, the collected works of the Jonang master Jetsun Taranatha ; Volumes 56–59: Bo dong phyogs las rnam rgyal gsung ’bum gsar rnyed, reproductions of several newly discovered works of Bodong Penchen Chogle Namgyel. An additional companion volume provides a karchag.
According to the tibetologists Orna Almogi & Dorji Wangchuk the series contains books

that differ in content but are all of great calligraphic and palaeographic value.
