Pelalawan Regency


Pelalawan is a regency of Riau Province, Indonesia. It is located on the island of Sumatra. The regency was created on 12 October 1999 as a result of the division of Kampar Regency, of which it was previously the eastern 43%. It now has an area of 13,408.72 km2 and had a population of 301,829 at the 2010 Census and 390,046 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2024 was 434,590. The administrative centre is in the large town of Pangkalan Kerinci.

Administrative districts

The regency is divided into twelve districts, listed below with their areas and their populations at the 2010 Census and the 2020 Census, together with the official estimates as at mid 2024. The table also includes the locations of the district administrative centres, the number of administrative villages in each district, and its post code; of the 14 kelurahan, one is in each district, except that the very urbanised Pangkalan Kerinci District has three kelurahan.
