Paul Linger
Paul Linger was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League as a midfielder for Charlton Athletic, Leyton Orient and Brighton & Hove [Albion F.C.|Brighton & Hove Albion]. He went on to play non-League football for clubs including Welling [United F.C.|Welling United], Billericay Town,
Braintree Town, Purfleet/Thurrock,
East [Thurrock United F.C.|East Thurrock United],
Wingate and [Finchley F.C.|Wingate and Finchley],
Chelmsford [City F.C.|Chelmsford City],
Redbridge,
and Dover Athletic.
Linger represented the United Kingdom at the 2005 Maccabiah Games.
On 1 October 2021, Linger died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 46. He was diagnosed with the disease earlier in the year.
