Patna division
Patna Division is one of the nine administrative units of Bihar, a state in the east of India. Patna is the headquarters of the division. Established in 1829, it is one of the oldest divisions of the state.Patna Division was established in 1829, along with Saran Division and Bhagalpur Division, as the 11th division of the Bengal Presidency in British India. On March 1, 1834, the 10th division was abolished and merged into the 11th Division. After that, Patna Division included the districts of Patna, Gaya, Saran, Champaran, and Shahabad, while the former Tirhut district was abolished and two new districts— Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga were created. In 1908, the boundaries of Patna Division were significantly reorganized, and a new Tirhut Division was formed from the northern districts of Saran, Champaran, Muzaffarpur, and Darbhanga, while Patna Division was reconstituted with the districts of Patna, Gaya, and Shahabad. After independence, the Bihar government created a separate Magadh Division from the Gaya region of Patna Division.Districts, sub-divisions, and blocks
