Parasitic Diseases is a scholarly work, published in 1977 in ''The New England Journal of Medicine''. ON April 2, 1977, Abdel Halim Hafez, the combination Elvis Presley-Frank Sinatra of the Arab world, was buried in Cairo amid the shrill cries and anguished chants of tens of thousands of his fans.
