Orchestrated ensemble activities constitute a hippocampal memory engram
Orchestrated ensemble activities constitute a hippocampal memory engram is a scholarly work by Takashi Takekawa, Makoto Osanai, Yasunori Hayashi, Tomoki Fukai, Kaoru Inokuchi, Khaled Ghandour, Noriaki Ohkawa, Chi Chung Alan Fung, Hirofumi Nishizono, and Takashi Kitamura, published in 2019 in ''Nature Communications''. The main subjects of the publication include hippocampal formation, memory consolidation, glossary of archaeology, neuroscience, hippocampus, engram, brain, synaptic plasticity, and psychology. The authors established a unique imaging system that combines Ca2+ imaging and engram identification to extract the characteristics of engram activity by visualizing and discriminating between engram and non-engram cells.
