Oligodon fasciolatus


Oligodon fasciolatus, commonly known as the small-banded kukri snake or the fasciolated kukri snake, is a species of snake in the family Colubridae. The species is native to Southeast Asia. This snake uniquely eviscerates live poisonous toads, Duttaphrynus melanostictus, to avoid toxic white liquid the toad secretes. This snake also preys on the Kaloula pulchra.

Geographic range

O. fasciolatus is found in southeastern Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.

The preferred natural habitat of O. fasciolatus is forest.
