Ocongate District

The Ocongate District is one of the twelve districts in the Quispicanchi Province in Peru. Created on January 2, 1857, its capital is the town of Ocongate.

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly Indigenous [peoples of the Americas|indigenous] citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population learnt to speak in childhood, 8.69% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language.
