My Patrasche
My Patrasche is a 1992 Japanese animated television series adaptation of Maria Louise Ramé's 1872 novel A Dog of Flanders, produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsha. 26 episodes were produced. The series debuted on Nippon Television on October 10, 1992 and was cancelled on March 27, 1993 due to low ratings, but the last two episodes were produced and debuted on home video instead.

1. Meeting Patrasche: Nello and his grandfather are introduced, who despite being poor, do their best in selling milk from townhouses to townhouses and being with whatever they have. One day while going to the town, they find a poor Flanders breed dog being mistreated by its brutish owner. Nello, out of sheer kindness, wants to stop it but are the owner just won't let it. So, Nello and his grandfather sadly proceed to work. Meanwhile the poor dog has been beaten so much that he can hardly move, so the owner left him on the side of the road to go steal another one. While on the way back, when it is about to rain, Nello finds the barely alive dog on the roadside and takes him to be resuscitated in his home.2. Luck of Patrasche: With the care of Jehas Dass and Nello and medication from Alois's father, Patrasche heals recovering from his wound for 2&1/2 days. Nello decides to keep Patrasche and treats him well.
3. A gift from Grandpa: Patrasche has been taken in his first outing, there he and nello finds the kids listening to grimm's fairy tales. He want to read that book too, but his financial level isn't good enough to afford an education. Grandpa gets known about this fact and cuts some wood for the abusive renter and uses the money to buy nello a grimm's fairy tale book. Moves to tears by gift, nello wants to do soemthing for his grandpa and seeing this patrasche, come next morning, intends to pull the milk cart to the sell so he can sell milk with nello. Understanding his resolve, grandpa with nello, builds a dog harness for him.
4. First Drawing: Nello goes to work with his dog patrasche, filling for his grandpa for the first time, as he is sick. There a friendly town boy, phillip invites him in to draw patrasche and avails nello of some parchment and black charcoal paint to draw a picture as nello is seen being mesmerized by a ruben's artpiece. Nello, later some time, draws soemthing and shows to grandpa after returning home, but as if remembering some traumatic memory, grandpa Jehan tears the pain piece asunder.
5. Why Grandpa?: Grandpa seems to not want nello's painting love to prosper as that reminds him how nello's father was a wayward vagrant artists, charmed by whom his daughter ran away from home and the experience thereafter wasn't pleasant. Grandpa doesn't want history to repeat itself, but nello holds firm to his desire as art makes him free from worries and pain.
6. Dad...Mom...: Some of the kids start using nello, for their drawing assignment and the school teacher finds out about it. She isn't mad about it, rather upon finding out about nello, through alois, she gives nello drawing supplies. But later grandpa finds out and explains to nello the reason for outbursts, but makes nello more determined to draw as that something his mother would want. Moved by this innocence, grandpa starts facilitating nello's drawing practices.
7. Stolen Patrasche: The Brute after much scheming and subterfuge, takes away patrasche to he can again commit the poor dog to torturous labour, rending Nello to complete devastation.
8. Give me back Patrasche!: Patrasche is found after much searching before he could leave the very same day when he was stolen.
9. Rubens painting: Nello and dog went to go see ruben's painting of mother mary, but apparently one would have to pay to see Christ's painting, which disheartens him.
10. Simon, the shepherd's boy: Nello meets simon, a shepherd boy with dreams of being a sailor. After not wanting to be employed by the abusive baumann guy, he is rightly coaxed by nello to do his best to apply for a shipboy position. He succeeds and leaves the place for good.
11. Aloa's birthday: Even though it's aloi's birthday, nello can't buy any quality gift for her so her grandpa gets some quality flowers for her, which alois gratefully accepts. They spend a nice time partying and nello's gift gets widely appreciated, even the nasty mr. baumann didn't get to insult it.
12. Run! Patrasche: Nello gets trapped in a forest crevice trying to find firewood for his sick grandpa. Then the ardent patrasche seeks down his grandpa and the search party assigned to find nello, in which they succeed.
13. Degraded picture: While visiting phillips, his mother literally tells phillips's drawing master to belittle nello's own so that phillip interest in drawing is not diminished. Phillip figures it out and immediately getting called back, the teacher leaves the scene. The mother being irate decides to never again get milk from that damned milkboy. Afterwards, simon coming back from his voyage at sea, sees a distraught nello and gifts him a drawing pencils to cheer him up.
14. Aunt Nuret is having a hard time: Mr. baumann wants to kick the gentle aunt nuret out for acquiring her home, for that he makes up a story of him not getting paid, but due to nello's determination that gets thwarted.
15. Goodbye, Dr. Renner: The motherly dr. renner leaves the school due to scheming from dr. baumann, making nello distraught.
16. Aloa selling milk: Aloa helps nello to sell milk in sickness. Later, aunt nuret and aloa's mum, they all, make sure to take care of nello to bring him back to health.
17. The day I drew aloa: Mr. Baumann has given wrongful impression of nello on aloa's father, causing him to demand aloa be seperated from nello.
18. Aloa separated: Aloa is repeatedly berated for wanting to see nello. In the next birthday, nello wants to give a woodworked patrasche statue to aloa, but unbeknownst to him even that maybe unsure.
