Matilde Giglio


Matilde Giglio is an Italian entrepreneur and business executive. She is the co-founder of the health-technology company Even Healthcare, and previously co-founded Compass News, a journalism-technology venture. Her career has included roles in venture capital, technology, and communications.

Early life and education

Giglio was born in Rome, Italy. She completed her undergraduate degree at LUISS Guido Carli University and subsequently undertook graduate studies in philosophy, politics and economics at the London School of Economics, where she earned a master's degree.

Career

In 2015, Giglio co-founded Compass News, a London- and New York-based journalism-technology company, with Mayank Banerjee. The venture developed machine-learning tools to curate news content for younger audiences, and partnered with publications including the Financial Times and The Economist. It secured investments from investors including Bloomberg Beta.
After leaving Compass News, Giglio joined London-based investment firm Hambro Perks, where she was the head of the healthcare and financial technology sectors. She subsequently became a partner at the firm.
In 2020, Giglio co-founded Even Healthcare in Bengaluru, India, alongside Banerjee and Alessandro Ialongo. The company provides subscription-based health-care services and has received investment from firms including Khosla Ventures, Founders Fund, DST Global, and Alpha Wave, as well as several individual investors. Even Healthcare raised additional funding rounds in 2022 and 2024, with reports estimating total investment at around USD 60 million.
