Mantle Convection
Mantle Convection is a scholarly work, published in 1992 in ''The Journal of Geology''. The main subjects of the publication include plate tectonics, geophysics, geology, oceanic crust, subduction, mantle plume, core–mantle boundary, geochronology, transition zone, Mantle wedge, hotspot, seafloor spreading, mantle convection, Earth's internal heat budget, convection, seismology, and planetary mantle. The authors infer a significant viscosity increase, by perhaps two to three orders of magnitude, through the depth of the mantle, with a large part of this increase occurring through the transition zone.
