Maarten Atmodikoro
Maarten Atmodikoro is a retired Dutch football defender.
Club career
He started his professional career in the 1989–90 season for Schiedamse [Voetbal Vereniging]. He later played for Dordrecht '90, NAC Breda, and NEC Nijmegen before finishing his career at ADO [Den Haag]. He retired in 2001.Atmodikoro is one of the last to have been detained for refusing to do military service. He was sentenced to seven months in prison in April 1996 for conscientious objection, opposed to violence as a matter of principle, and did not want to perform alternative military service. A few months later, in August, the last conscripts were called up before conscription was officially abolished in May 1997.
