Le Grand is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Merced County, California, United States. Le Grand is east-southeast of Merced, the county seat at an elevation of. The population was 1,592 at the 2020 census, down from 1,659 at the 2010 census.
History
The first post office opened in 1896. The name honors William Le Grand Dickinson, who sold the railroad land for the town.Geography

Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1,330 persons.The whole population lived in households. There were 472 households, out of which 207 had children under the age of 18 living in them, 235 were married-couple households, 36 were cohabiting couple households, 130 had a female householder with no partner present, and 71 had a male householder with no partner present. 77 households were one person, and 33 were one person aged 65 or older.
