Larak Rural District

Larak Rural District is in the Central District of Qeshm County, Hormozgan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Larak Shahri.

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population was 466 in 98 households. There were 473 inhabitants in 109 households at the following census of 2011. The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 421 in 115 households. The most populous of its three villages was Larak Shahri, with 421 people.
In 2017, the rural district was separated from the district to join the Central District.

Geography

The district is a small island in the Straits of Hormuz on the south side of Hormuz Island; it is located about 45 km southeast of Bandar Abbas and 18 km southeast of the eastern end of Qeshm Island.
