Karl Gustaf Andresen
Karl Gustaf Andresen was a German linguist. He was the father of Romance philologist Hugo Andresen.
He studied philology at the University of Kiel as a pupil of Gregor Wilhelm Nitzsch, receiving his doctorate in 1837. Afterwards, he worked as a schoolteacher in Altona and Mülheim an der Ruhr. In 1870 he obtained his habilitation at the University of Bonn, where in 1874 he became an associate professor.
