Karl Christian Traugott Friedemann Goebel
Karl Christian Traugott Friedemann Goebel was a German pharmacist and chemist.
Following training at an apothecary in Eisenach, he studied pharmacy at the University of Jena. In 1821 he was appointed head of the university pharmacy. In 1824 he became a professor at Jena, followed by a professorship of chemistry and physics at the Imperial University of Dorpat.
The botanical genus Goebelia Bunge ex Boiss. 1872 commemorates his name.
