John Grantley Cooper
John Grantley Cooper is a Welsh chess International Master (IM), ten-times Welsh Chess Championship winner, two-times Chess Olympiad individual silver medal winner.
Biography
John Grantley Cooper has won ten times in the Welsh Chess Championships: 1976, 1977, 1978, 1984, 1985, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996. In 1984, he was awarded the FIDE International Master title.John Grantley Cooper played for Wales in the Chess Olympiads:

- In 1976, at fourth board in the 22nd Chess Olympiad in Haifa and won individual silver medal,
