Jack Carr (writer)
George Petersen, better known by his pen name Jack Carr, is an American author and former member of United States Navy SEALs. He is best known for his thriller novel The Terminal List, pseudonymously co-written with Keith Wood, which was made into a television series on Amazon Prime Video.
Biography
Early life and personal information
Jack Carr was born into a military family and his mother was a librarian which gave him access to many books. He developed interests in authors such as Tom Clancy, Nelson DeMille and Louis L'Amour. When Carr first learned about the United States Navy SEALs at the age of 7, he decided that that was the career he was going to pursue.Carr joined the U.S. Navy in 1996. He spent over 20 years in Naval Special Warfare Command.
Carr presently lives in Park City, Utah, with his wife and children. He also hosts a podcast called "Danger Close".
Writing
Carr's debut novel, The Terminal List was published in 2018, and adapted into a television series starring Chris Pratt. The series was released on Amazon Prime Video on July 1, 2022 and was renewed for a second season. The second season will be based on the second novel in The Terminal List series, True Believer.Taylor Kitsch, who appeared in The Terminal List, also starred and executive produced a prequel series called The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.
Carr released his first non-fiction book called "Targeted" which is about the 1983 Beirut barracks bombings. The book uses source material from declassified documents from Ronald Reagan's administration. The book was published on September 26, 2024 and it will be first in a new series of books.
