He celebrated the news with friends and family at a storefront on the corner of Fraser Highway and 271 Street in Aldergrove.
Bhangu currently serves on the official opposition's shadow cabinet as the Critic for Transportation. His identified policy priorities include addressing gaps in the healthcare system, and affordable gas for all Canadians.
He has since been advocating for the designation of increased ferry service levels for the Kootenay Lake Ferry, calling on the Labour Minister, Jennifer Whiteside, to immediately intervene and mediate the ongoing BCGEU strike which has reduced ferry sailings from 10 to 3 daily trips. He has also pushed for immediate action from the government to address issues with Highway 97, a critical corridor in the Okanagan, that has been faced closures and delays.
