Gary Jackson (poet)
Gary Jackson is an American educator and poet. He had received a Cave Canem and Bread Loaf fellowship and was awarded the Cave Canem Poetry Prize in 2009.
Personal life
Gary Jackson, born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, received a Bachelor’s in English from Washburn University in 2004. And graduated from the University of New Mexico with an MFA in 2008. He lived and taught in South Korea for one year before returning to New Mexico.Hired in 2013, he is on the faculty of the College of Charleston as Assistant Professor of Poetry. At Crazyhorse, he is Associate Poetry Editor. The Poetry Society of America selected him as one of 2013's New American Poets.
